AI & Your Content

We get asked a lot about AI: where it shows up in My Film Slate, and where it doesn't. Here's the straight answer.

AI never writes your application

My Film Slate guides, organizes, and structures your work. It does not author your application for you. The words a funder reads are yours. We believe that's also what gets funded — your voice, your project, your reasoning.

AI only touches your content when you opt in

By default, your content is not processed by any AI. Some features can use AI to help you, but they are off until you turn them on, and you consent to them one at a time — never silently, and never as a blanket setting buried in your account.

How the optional import feature works

The clearest example is importing a previous application. Here's exactly what happens, and the guarantees that come with it:

• You choose the file first, then choose how to read it. Reading with AI is opt-in, and you consent to it after you've uploaded the file — never before.
• Read-only. When you read a file with AI, it transcribes your existing words. It does not write, generate, or rewrite content.
• Zero retention. Your file is read once and then discarded. We don't store it, and the AI provider keeps nothing.
• Never used for training. Your file and its contents are never used to train any AI model.
• You review everything. What comes back is a draft you review, edit, and confirm before anything is added to your slate.
• A no-AI fallback. You can choose to read a file on your device instead. Files read this way never leave your browser.

Where AI is never involved

• Your self-identification answers are never sent to any AI, and are never used to assess your application.
• Analytics never capture the text you write — your content is masked in your browser before anything is sent. See our Privacy Policy.

The provider we use

When AI is used for an opt-in feature, requests go through the Vercel AI Gateway to Anthropic, configured for zero data retention and no training.
